Dates and times

School hours

School gates open at 8.45am Monday to Friday.

The 3 drop-off gates are locked at 9.00am and re-open at 2.45pm.

There are 3 drop off zones at Adelaide North Special School:

• Purple Unit – for Access Taxis and private access vehicles.
• Taxi drop off and pick up zone (next to gym) for all students who can access standard taxis.
• Parent drop off zone (next to the front office) is for those who wish to drop off their child either at the gate or walk them to class.

Start of school day

At 9.00am you will hear a learning bell to remind you to make your way out of the school as formal learning is about to start.

After 9.00am, parents and carers are reminded to drop off their child at the office to minimise learning disruption in the classroom.

End of school day

2.55pm is the official end of our school day.

End of day pick up: gates open at 2.45pm allowing parents, carers and taxis to collect students. Students on taxis will be escorted to the taxi.

Gates are then closed and locked shortly after 3.00pm.

Student drop-off and pick-up and visitor parking

There is one main school entrance on the eastern side of our school, which is accessed from Douglas Drive. The main entrance is the first gate on your left when heading north along Douglas Drive. This gate is the entry only gate. The second gate located on your left further north along Douglas Drive is an exit only gate.

Visitor and parent parking

Please enter the main entry gate and follow driveway around to the right which will bring you to the angle parking area for visitors, parents and carers.

Observe car park speed limit at all times

Please observe the 5 kph car park speed limit at all times. This is for the safety of students, staff and visitors who may be present within the car park areas.

Late arrivals and early departures

Late arrivals need to come to the front office to be signed in.

Early departures need to come to the front office to be signed out.
