Enrolment process
Please note that Adelaide North Special School is unable to accept direct enrolments.
Enrolment enquiries should be directed to the Department for Education Elizabeth South Office by phoning (08) 8204 8200.
They’ll assist you with the process and answer queries about where your child will be located.
Your child will need to be accessed prior to attending a special school.
If you are unsure, speak to the Principal of the current school where your child attends. They will be able to assist you and perhaps begin the process.

Mid-year intake from 2024
From 2024, there will be a mid-year intake into school.
If your child turns 5 years between 1st May and 31st October 2024, they can start school in either:
- term 3 of the same year
- or term 1 the following year.
Students enrolled through a mid-year intake will complete 6 terms of reception.
Transition visits
Before starting school, a letter will be sent to families to offer a transition visit in term 4 for students starting at Adelaide North Special School the following year.
